چکیده

A mild hemolytic anemia in a 43-yr-old black likely explanation of the instability is the woman was attributed to the presence of an abpresence of an uncovered positive chargs in the normal hemoglobin (Hb Rush) which migrated central cavity where normally glutamic acid in cathodically to Hb A at pH 8.0. Its structural position 101 neutralizes arginine in position abnormality was found to be in the a-chain, 104 contributing to the net neutrality in this 13101 (G3) glu -e gIn. Another electrophoretic region. This neutrality is disturbed by the subband at H 8.0 proved to be a hybrid tetramer stitution of glutamic acid by glutamine in Hb (AaAa ush) Hb Rush is heat unstable. Hemoglobin Istanbul: substitution of glutamine for histidine in a proximal histidine (F8(92) ).

A presumably spontaneous mutation has resulted in the formation of Hemoglobin (Hb) Istanbul in which glutamine is substituted for histidine in the proximal position of the beta-chain (F8(92)). The anemia and other physiological effects that occur in the presence of Hb Istanbul were much ameliorated by splenectomy. Hb Istanbul is a relatively unstable molecule which produces a rather moderate ca...

[Hemolytic anemia due to hemoglobin Evans in an Argentinean family].

Unstable hemoglobins are structural variants of the hemoglobin molecule, mostly originated by single amino-acid replacement in some globin chains. These changes affect molecule stability, leading to loss of solubility, precipitation, and cellular lysis. Patients carrying these unstable hemoglobins may present mild to severe chronic hemolytic anemia. Hemoglobin Evans is an unstable variant origi...

Quantitative studies of ferritinlike iron in erythrocytes of thalassemia, sickle-cell anemia, and hemoglobin Hammersmith with Mössbauer spectroscopy.

By using the technique of recoil-free absorption (Mössbauer effect) in iron, we found large amounts of iron, yielding a well-defined spectrum different from that of oxy- or deoxyhemoglobin, in whole erythrocytes of 13 patients with beta-thalassemia major and intermedia, 3 with hemoglobin H disease, 2 with sickle-cell anemia, and 1 with unstable hemoglobin Hammersmith. The Mössbauer spectra at v...

Interaction of hemoglobin E and pyrimidine 5' nucleotidase deficiency.

A Bangladeshi family is described in which the genes for both hemoglobin E (Hb E) and pyrimidine 5' nucleotidase deficiency are segregating. An individual homozygous for both these conditions has a severe hemolytic anemia, whereas family members who are homozygous for Hb E are asymptomatic and those homozygous for pyrimidine 5' nucleotidase deficiency have the mild hemolytic anemia that is char...
